In this workshop, we’ll talk and write about our own happy places and what we imagine heaven to be. We’ll look at Danez Smith’s “Dinosaurs in the Hood” and Jose Olivarez’ “Mexican Heaven” for some inspiration and guidance on what heaven and happy places look like to these poets. We’ll then write our own poems about our utopias, who belongs there, what foods are there, what it looks like, and how we fit into those spaces.

Awesome for Poets!
